ekue

Ekue Bright Adamah-Biassi

Program: PhD, Pharmacology & Toxicology

Advisor: Margarita L. Dubocovich, PhD, Dept of Pharmacology & Toxicology

Research Interests: I am interested in molecular, behavioral and neuropsychopharmacology. Specifically, understanding the mechanisms by which luzindole, a competitive melatonin receptors antagonists ellicits antidepressants like effects in mice.

katelyn

Katelyn Carr

Program: PhD, Neuroscience Program

Advisor: Dr. Leonard H. Epstein, Division of Behavioral Medicine, Department of Pediatrics

Research Interests: I am interested in eating behaviors including factors that
increase and decrease the motivation to eat and how memory of food, environmental context cues ad previous eating episodes influences these factors.

Alice Crane

Program: MD/PhD, Pharmacology and Toxicology

Advisor: James Olson, PhD, Dept of Pharmacology & Toxicology

Research Interest: The impact of genetic variability on human susceptibility to chlorpyrifos

jay

Jay Garaycochea

Program: PhD, Neuroscience

Advisor: Malcolm Slaughter, PhD; Dept of Biophysics; Dept of Neuroscience

Research Interests: I am currently using electrophysiological techniques to identify a metabotropic glycine receptor in salamander retina, with the goal of identifying this receptor in rat retina in the future.

wei

Wei Luo

Program: PhD, Department of Biochemistry

Advisor: Dr. Lee Ann Sinha;  Dept of Biochemistry

Research Interests: I am interested in immunology especially the mechnism and treatment for autoimmune disease. I am also interested in cancer research and angiogenesis.

alex

Alex Morrison-Nozik

Program: PhD, Pharmacology & Toxicology

Advisor: Ji Li, PhD; Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology

Research Interests: Cardiovascular disease, specifically ischemic heart disease and myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury.  In addition, understanding the molecular mechanisms of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) mediated cardioprotection.
