Mrs. Meyer's Language Arts Class Website

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to Cherry Creek West Middle School and the 2016-2017 school year! I'm very excited to begin a new academic year and even more eager to have your student as part of our learning team. I look forward to developing very rewarding relationships this year with both you and your student. I am also happy to begin working as a team with you to promote learning and success. I believe the most productive learning environment is one where everyone is treated with respect and dignity, and feel very confident that together we can meet any challenges this year with positive outcomes.

This letter is both an introduction, and the beginning of what, I hope, will be the start of ongoing communication between us. I am Carol H. Meyer, and I am your student's Language Arts teacher on Team 6-2. I earned an Associate of Arts degree from the Community of College of Aurora, a Bachelor of Arts degree at Metropolitan State University and a Master's of Arts degree at University of Colorado at Denver. I continue to take advantage of various professional development classes to further my knowledge and interest in many aspects of education.

I believe that in order for students to succeed, we need to be a learning team, both in and out of the classroom. If you have any information you would like to share with me about your student, that you feel would assist me in learning more about your student's academic needs, I would appreciate if you would take the time to drop me a quick note or email. Please know that I am always available to speak with you regarding any concerns or suggestions you may have. I pride myself on parent and student relationships which has definitely assisted in the success of students for years in my classroom.

The most convenient way to reach me this school year is via email; however, I also welcome your phone calls. My email address is, and the classroom phone number is (720) 554-5205. I will return all emails and phone calls the first opportunity I have, as our continued communication is extremely important to me.

I look forward to this school year with great anticipation and know it will be a success for us all. I look forward to our ongoing communication, and participating in the success of your student!

Respectfully yours, Mrs. Carol H. Meyer
