I am a Clinical Associate Professor of Physics at the University at Buffalo (SUNY).

I hold a graduate degree in physics and mathematics with a concentration in teaching and education (Staatsexamen Mathematik/Physik für Lehramt an Gymnasien, 2009) from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany and a Ph.D. in physics (specializing in physics education research) from the University of Maine (2013).

My research centers on how people learn and teach physics in highly interactive formal and informal environments, particularly in the context of energy.
