Objectives of the course were to discuss the theoretical issues in first and second language literacy and discuss and demonstrate approaches to teaching and assessing ESOL literacy at a secondary level.

Objectives of the course were to teach mainstream teachers how to adapt content instruction to help ESOL students, how to facilitate ESOL student adjustment to a new culture and how to help all students develop an appreciation for diversity.
