Push-Up Test
Instructions
for Test Administration
The push-up
is used to evaluate upper body muscular endurance.
1. The client assumes the up position of the
push-up exercise to begin this test.
The hands,
pointing forward, are placed under the shoulders. The beck and legs are held straight. The toes may be curled under.
2. The client lowers the body, maintaining the
straight body position, to within four inches of the mat. The examiner may place a fist as a marker of
the down position.
3. Female clients perform the test from their
knees.
4. The total number of push-ups is
counted. There is no time limit.
