Heard At Homer's

Homer's Tavern exists only in John's mind. He thinks of it as "Homer's Tavern and Policy Studies Emporium". Perhaps it is modeled after a mill gate tavern which once stood on Mackinaw Avenue across from U.S. Steel's South Works in Chicago. (Today both the tavern and the plant also exist only in the mind.)

Homer's is a bar of locals. The television may be on but the sound is mute. Conversation amongst patrons is of primary importance.
