ACRL- The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), a division of the American Library Association, is a professional association of academic librarians and other interested individuals. It is dedicated to enhancing the ability of academic library and information professionals to serve the information needs of the higher education community and to improve learning, teaching, and research.

For students in the School Library Media Specialist program, the School Librarian's Association of Western New York (SLAWNY) attempts to encourage, promote, and advocate the interests of school library media programs and school library media specialists, and to insure that each student becomes an active reader, responsible information-seeker, critical thinker and life-long learner.

Special Libraries Association (SLA) - Through innovative learning, successful networking, and effective advocacy, SLA is a connective force for our profession

Right here at UB, the SUNY Buffalo ALA Student Chapter plans and organizes events and provides opportunities for professional development, advocacy and community service.

UB LIS GSA - The purpose of the LIS GSA is to improve the overall quality of student life. We aim to do this by planning and participating in functions that are both entertaining and informative.
