Acquisitions
Library Clerk III
- Responsible for all incoming shipments of serials and monographs to the Law Library.
All library mail is funneled through the acquisitions department where it is sorted,
opened and distributed to the appropriate department for further processing or to the
individual whose responsibility it is to oversee any action that needs to be taken.
- Oversees processing of serial receipts in all formats within 24 hours of receipt.
This includes supervising and training a Clerk I who manages periodicals receipts
and claiming of missing issues.

Receives and processes all receipts of United States Depository government
documents shipments in all formats including paper, microfiche, CD-ROM/DVD
products and electronic resources. As the US depository adds more of their
publications to the Internet, links are added to current catalog records to
provide public access to publications which are no longer available in a
tangible format.
- Under direction from the head of acquisitions, orders and processes new
monographs utilizing bibliographic databases such as OCLC to identify and download
records into BISON.
- Sorts and processes invoices for $1 million library budget.
- Handles problems with publishers and vendors regarding invoices, shipments,
and claims via telephone, e-mail and traditional correspondence.

of the Law
Library Strategic Planning Committee whose mission was to
produce a viable document outlining the short term goals of the library to
support the research and instructional needs of the UB Law School.
Elected by Classfied staff to chair first library wide Classified Staff
Executive Committee. This committee was formed to give classified staff
more of a voice in the decisions made within the University Libraries.
Member of
Staff Funding Committee. This committee distributes funds
to library staff and faculty for educational activities offered outside of the
libraries.
